[ Glass crunches under Jack's boats as she paces through the dim room, the busted light fixture above flickering sporadically, and cold, emotionless eyes pass over the grime, rust and blood stained walls to the counters. Over surgical tools that had been left out hastily as doctors had went into a panic when whatever riot that shut this place down broke out. From there she paces over to a metal chair, leather straps on arm wrests and metal bars obvious as to what they would restrain by their shape and placement - head, throat, waist, hips, legs. No misbehaving in the operation room.

A few years ago, this would have boiled her blood. She would have felt a sickness rising in her so strong that all the logical path next would be was cover the shithole in gasoline and torch it to high heaven. Now, it's only a mild nausea. She's been here before. She isn't going to let memories keep her here again. Eye glance sideways to Alenko - assigned to work with her for the last few missions since Shepard... pulled another Space Jesus. That freaking bitch. She's going to get a boot so far up her ass once Jack makes it to the afterlife with her. She knows a few things about Alenko - knows where he got his implants, looked up the history of that place. She's not sure what looking at this does to him, but she can imagine it's an unfortunate kind of unsurprising. There's a pointed stare that continues when he realizes there's a stare and meets her eyes. She squints at him, tilts her head, like trying to figure out what's going on in that head, and fairly unashamed of that intention, and when she starts talking to another squad member, she's still looking Kaiden's direction. ]

Wrap up the water works, Valdez. [ She caught that tearing up when they made it in. these fucking newbies. ] We got shit to do and if varren mauls you while you're taking a sentimentality moment I'm gonna be too busy doing the I Told You So dance to pull it off your face.

[ A snort and she's cocking a shotgun before making her way towards the next room. ]
